"Mind the Gaps: The Case for Truly Comprehensive Sustainable Groundwater Management" is a joint report of The Nature Conservancy and Stanford's Woods Institute for the Environment, published in Stanford's Water in the West journal. This report, supported by an accompanying summary op-ed in CalMatters, points out the gaps in the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). As it is currently written, the act protects less than 2% of California's groundwater. Mind the Gaps makes the case for the expansion of SGMA statewide.
